In the second Free Practice session for the 24 Hours of Le Mans the LMP2 category was headed by the no29 Forestier Racing by Panis Oreca was the fastest car in the class, with Esteban Masson posting a 3m33.645, the fastest LMP2 time of the day.
Masson’s time was 1.320 seconds faster than the rest of the class field, with Alex Quinn setting the best lap of 3m34.965 in the no4 Crowdstrike Racing by APR, which was the fastest of the nine LMP2 Pro/Am cars. Late in the 2-hour session Matthieu Vaxiviere went third quickest in the no183 AF Corse with a 3m35.765, pushing the reigning 24 Hours of Le Mans class champions Inter Europol Competition into 4th spot by 0.346s.
The fastest ELMS LMGT3 competitor was the no57 Kessel Racing Ferrari, with Daniel Serra posting a 3m56.325, which was good enough for 12th in class and nearly 1.2 seconds behind Augusto Farfus in the fastest LMGT3 car in the night session, the no32 Team WRT BMW M4. The no59 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin finished in 13th spot, 0.056s behind the Kessel Racing Ferrari.
The cars will be back on track for FP3 at 14h45 CEST on Thursday for a 3-hour session followed by Hyperpole later starting at 20h00.
