The second 90-minute Free practice session saw the no34 Inter Europol Competition Oreca-Gibson set the fastest lap, with Reshad de Gerus posting a 1m29.622, 0.4 second ahead of his teammate Tom Dillmann in the no43 IEC Oreca.
The session was interrupted by a couple of red flags and Full Course Yellow periods to recover stranded cars safely.
The no18 IDEC Sport Oreca was third fastest overall with Laurents Horr setting a 1m30.131, 0.032s ahead of the no25 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca.
The no83 AF Corse Oreca-Gibson was the fastest of the 12 LMP2 Pro/Am cars, with Matthieu Vaxivierre’s best lap of 1m30.534 setting the benchmark for the class. The no19 Rossa Racing by Virage was second fastest, 0.792s behind Vaxiviere, with Rik Koen lapping the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in 1m31.326, 0.033s ahead of the no3 DKR Engineering in third spot.
Eurointernational were fastest in LMP3, with Max Van Der Snel posting a 1m40.465 in the no11 Ligier-Toyota late in the session to claim the top spot. The no13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier was second fastest on 1m40.738, just 0.01s ahead of the no17 CLX Motorsport Ligier in third at the end of the 90-minute session.
The no59 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin set the pace in the LMGT3 category, with Valentin Hasse Clot’s time of 1m41.610 putting the French team at the head of the 14-car grid ahead of qualifying. The no54 High Class Racing Porsche was second fastest, 0.135s behind with Laurin Heinrich’s best lap of 1m41.745.
The no74 Kessel Racing Ferrari was third fastest, 0.821s behind the leading car and 0.044s ahead of the no75 Proton Competition Porsche in 4th spot.
The next ELMS session in Barcelona will be qualifying, starting with LMGT3 at 15h05.
