The first day of the two day official preseason test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya saw the 47 -ar field take part in three sessions totally 9 hours of track time.
The fastest car of the day was the no25 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca-Gibson, with Jake Hughes posting a 1m28.667 lap of the 4.657km circuit in the final 30-minute LMP2/LMP2 Pro/Am at the end of the day. The no28 IDEC Sport Oreca was the second fastest car on day 1, finishing the evening session 0.472s behind the APR run car, with Paul Loup Chatin setting the 1m29.139 lap.
Reigning LMP2 Champion Esteban Masson was third quickest on Day 1 with a 1m29.273 set in the same session.
The fastest LMP2 Pro/Am car was the no99 AO by TF Oreca, with reigning champion Louis Déletraz posting a 1m29.120, which was the fastest lap overall in the 4-hour morning session. Malthe Jakobsen set the second fastest lap in the LMP2 Pro/Am class with the Dane posting a 1m29.585 in the morning session, which was good enough for 4th overall in the no20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca-Gibson.
The fastest overall lap on Day 1 for the LMP3 category was set in the final 30-minute session for LMP3/LMGT3 cars with Bruno Ribeiro posting a 1m38.179 lap in the no17 CLX Motorsport Ligier JS P325-Toyota, just 0.007s ahead of the no11 Eurointernational Ligier of Douwe Dedecker in the same session.
The no54 High Class Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3 was the quickest of the 14 LMGT3 cars with Laurin Heinrich setting the benchmark time of 1m41.400 in the 4-hour morning session. The no33 TF Corvette was the second fastest LMGT3 car on Day 1, with reigning champion Charlie Eastwood lapping the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in 1m42.110, 0.175s ahead of the no23 United Autosports McLaren 720S of Wayne Boyd, all set in the morning session.
Day 2 of The Prologue will see two further test sessions, the first 4-hour session beginning at 09h00 and the final 3-hour session at 14h00.

The 2026 European Le Mans Series will begin on Monday 6 April with The Prologue, the two-day official pre-season test.
The 4 Hours of Barcelona weekend begins on Friday 10 April with Free Practice 1 and the 30-minute Bronze Driver Collective Test.
On Saturday 11 April will feature the second 90-minute Free Practice session followed by qualifying for the 4 Hours of Barcelona. The 4 Hours of Barcelona takes place on Sunday 12 April, with the race due to start at 12h00 and the chequered flag waved four hours later at 16h00.
