By finishing in 5th place of the Petit Le Mans general classification, the Beche/Thiriet/Tinseau crew with the Oreca 03 of the Thiriet by TDS Racing team won the 2012 ELMS title.
Completing the head quintet at Petit Le Mans, the Oreca 03 of Thiriet by TDS Racing driven by the Beche/Thirie/Tinseau crew takes the 2012 ELMS title. Regularly racing in Europe, Xavier Combet and Jacques Morello's team can be proud of their American outing as this first Endurance Racing title grants them an invitation to the next Le Mans 24 Hours. The OAK Racing Morgan driven by Pla/Baguette/Nicolet, after starting in pole position, was rapidly delayed by starter problems and only crossed the finish line in 8th position in the general (5th in LMP2 and 2nd in ELMS). The other ELMS competitors of the category were less successful; both Greaves Motorsport and Murphy Prototypes suffered electrical problems.
In GTE-Am, the fight for the victory and the European crown opposed IMSA Performance Matmut and AF Corse. The Narac/Armindo/Pons crew from Rouen takes its second GTE-Am title in a row. After defending itself brilliantly against the American GTs, the French Porsche (of 2011) performed outstandingly and finished on the doorstep of its category's Top Ten. In the opposing clan, the AF Corse Ferrari of Cioci/Perazzini/Griffin had a hazardous race with several contacts on the track.
