New F1 boss to be official starter of 24 Hours of Le Mans

The annual ACO press conference took place today (Friday 16 June 2017) at the official starter for the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans was revealed – the honour going to new Formula 1 Chairman Chase Carey.

 This year’s Grand Marshal, Mark Webber, was paid tribute and the winner of the Michelin Challenge Design on the theme Le Mans 2030: Design for the Win, was present (Tao Ni from China ) alongside Pascal Couasnon, Director of Michelin Motorsport and Pierre Fillon to reveal the mock-up of his project. 

Also announced was the creation of a World League for LMP3 racing, the entry-level prototype class set up by ACO.
