FP2: Practice Is Over - All Set for Qualifying

The final practice session ahead of the 2026 Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone saw the no43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca post the fastest lap of the event so far.  Double 24 Hours of Le Mans LMP2 winner Tom Dillmann posted a 1m43.713 lap, which was 1.2 seconds faster than the best lap set in FP1.

The session was red flagged with 5 minutes left on the clock after the no3 DKR Engineering Oreca of Marlon Hernandez went off track and ended up in the gravel.  There was no time to resume the session.

The no25 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca was second quickest, with Jake Hughes lapping in 1m44.057, 0.344s behind Dillmann and 0.233s ahead of the no37 CLX Motorsport.

The championship leading no29 Forestier Racing by Panis and no22 United Autosports Orecas finished the session in 6th and 17th overall respectively.

The no99 AO by TF Oreca was the fastest of the LMP2 Pro/Am competitors, with Louis Deletraz lapping 1m44.817, which was good enough for 8th overall.  The no14 TDS Racing Oreca was second fastest with Scott Huffaker posting a 1m45.227.  Championship leaders Algarve Pro Racing finished in third spot, with Malthe Jakobsen lapping the no20 Oreca-Gibson around the 5.891km Silverstone circuit in 1m45.293, just 0.012s ahead of their nearest championship rivals AF Corse.

The no85 R-ace GP Duqueine was the quickest of the ten LMP3 contenders, with Hugo Schwarze posting a 1m54.232, 0.6 seconds ahead of championship leader Louis Iglesias in the no17 CLX Motorsport Ligier.  The no5 Rinaldi Racing Ligier was third quickest at the end of the 90-minute session, with Mikkel Gaarde Pedersen setting a 1m55.455, 1.2 seconds behind Schwarze.

United Autosports led the way in the LMGT3 class, with Wayne Boyd posting a 1m58.724 in the no23 McLaren 720S, a new outright ELMS LMGT3 lap record, beating his teammate Garnet Patterson’s best time set last year by over seven tenths.

The no59 Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin Vantage was second quickest, the 1m59.001 best lap set by Valentin Hasse Clot, which was 0.365s ahead of the no57 Kessel Racing Ferrari of Daniel Serra.

The championship leading no75 Proton Competition Porsche was 12th fastest in class, while their nearest rivals, and reigning champions, TF Sport finished the session six places higher, with the no33 Corvette ending in 6th spot. 

The no50 Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari was missing from the session after the car was withdrawn from the event following damage incurred during FP1 yesterday. 

Qualifying for the Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone will take place at 14h55 this afternoon, starting with the LMGT3 category.
