The British driver posted a 1m44.964 to head the time sheets by 0.124s ahead of Job Van Uitert in the no28 IDEC Sport and a further 0.017s ahead of 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps winner Tom Dillmann in the no43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca-Gibson.
Championship leaders Forestier Racing by Panis finished in 6th place, 0.297s behind their rivals at the head of the field after Ollie Gray set a 1m45.261 lap around the Silverstone track.
The session was interrupted by a red flag when three cars went off track into the barriers. All three drivers were OK, but the barrier required repairs before the session could continue.
The no20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca was the quickest of the 12 LMP2 pro/Am cars, thanks to a 1m45.402 lap set by Malthe Jakobsen, which was good enough for seventh overall. The Dane was just 59 thousandths ahead of the no27 Nielsen Racing Oreca-Gibson, with Alex Quinn posting the best lap in that car of 1m45.461.
4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps winners AF Corse were third quickest with Antonio Fuoco lapping the 5.891km track in 1m45.556, just 0.095s behind Quinn.
The LMP3 field was headed by the championship leading no17 CLX Motorsport Ligier JS P325-Toyota. Louis Iglesias posted the best lap time of 1m54.037, 0.144s ahead of Matteo Quintarelli in the no8 Team Virage Ligier. The two leaders were over 1.1 seconds ahead of the rest of the LMP3 field, with the no11 Eurointernational Ligier in third spot after Max van der Snel set a 1m55.340.
It was the championship leaders at the head of the timing sheets at the end of the 90-minute session, with the no75 Proton Competition Porsche on a 1m59.505 lap set by Thomas Sargent, the American just 0.04s ahead of the no57 Kessel Racing Ferrari after Mathys Jaubert set a 1m59.545 time at the end of the Silverstone GP track.
Jaubert, who took the overall win with IDEC Sport at Silverstone in 2025, was 0.124s ahead of the no50 Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari, with Lilou Wadoux recording the best lap in the car of 1m59.669, who in turn was just 0.052s ahead of the no23 United Autosports McLaren of Wayne Boyd.
