FP1: IDEC Set the Pace for Home Event

The first 90-minute practice session for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet saw the no28 IDEC Sport Oreca-Gibson post the fastest time, with Job Van Uitert lapping the Circuit Paul Ricard in 1m50.086.

The session was red flagged and not restarted when the no7 Vector Sport Oreca went off track at Turn 6 with just 7 minutes of the session remaining.

The no24 Nielsen Racing Oreca was second fastest overall, with Jack Doohan posting a 1m50.213, 0.127s behind Van Uitert and 0.067s ahead of the third fastest car, the no83 AF Corse, which was also the fastest LMP2 Pro/Am competitor after Matthieu Vaxiviere’s lap of 1m50.280.

The no43 Inter Europol Competition and no22 United Autosports were 4th and 5th fastest and 3rd and 4th fastest in LMP2 at the end of the session.

The no14 TDS Racing Oreca of Scott Huffaker was the second quickest of the twelve LMP2 Pro/Am competitors, with the 1m50.429 lap time good enough for 7th overall.  The no20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca of Malthe Jakobsen was third quickest in the category and 11th overall. 

Eurointernational were fastest in LMP3 with Max Van Der Snel setting the class benchmark time of 2m00.128 in the no11 Ligier-Toyota, 0.212s ahead of the rest of the field led by the no8 Team Virage Ligier of Matteo Quintarelli.  The no31 Racing Spirit of Leman was third quickest, with Lenny Ried recording a 2m00.479 lap of the Circuit Paul Ricard, 0.353s ahead of the no5 Rinaldi Racing Ligier of 4 Hours of Barcelona winner Alvise Rodella.

The LMGT3 field was headed by the no57 Kessel Racing Ferrari with a 2m03.164 set by Daniel Serra.  It was a Ferrari 1-2-3 in FP1 with the no51 AF Corse 296 of Conrad Laursen in second place, 0.242s behind the Kessel Ferrari and 0.031s ahead of the no50 Richard Mille AF Corse Ferrari of Riccardo Agostini, who set a 2m03.439. 

The no59 Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin was fourth fastest, with a 2m03.443 lap set by Valentin Hasse Clot, with the no74 Kessel Racing and No86 GR Racing Ferraris in 5th and 6th respectively.
