The final Free Practice session for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet ahead of qualifying saw double race winners Thiriet by TDS Racing top the time sheets with Mathias Beche setting a 1m48.505, just 0.030s slower than the best time set in yesterday’s Free Practice 1.
The no33 Eurasia Motorsport Oreca was repaired overnight and Tristan Gommendy posted the second fastest time of the session with a 1m48.765 lap to put the team back on the front foot after losing so much preparation time on the first day. Pu Junjin was in the garage to watch the session but will not be taking part in the rest of the weekend after yesterday’s crash. The driving duties being shared between Gommendy and Nico Pieter De Brujin.
The no2 United Autsports Ligier bounced back to the top of the LMP3 category, with Alex Brundle posting a 1m54.869 lap, over a second faster than the nearest rival the no6 360 Racing with Ross Kaiser setting a 1m55.926.
In LMGTE it was the turn of the no51 AF Corse Ferrari to top the class times with Marco Cioci setting a 1m57.406 lap, just 0.139 ahead of the ever present no99 Aston Martin Racing Vantage of Darren Turner.
Qualifying for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet will get underway at 12h50 starting with LMGTE. Qualifying will be streamed live on the official websie at www.europeanlemansseries.com
