Since the announcement of the four constructors selected by the FIA, the ACO and IMSA to design and build the LM P2 chassis complying with the new 2017 regulations, Onroak Automotive has been working flat out with passion on the construction of the Ligier JS P217.
By calling upon their experience in the LM P2 category and working on optimising the different areas defined by the new regulations, the design department has carried out studies that will enable Onroak Automotive to offer a car combining efficiency and safety as well as performance and reliability.
The assembly of the first chassis continued throughout the summer as the parts arrived from our different partners, in particular the engine delivered mid-August by Gibson Technology.
Before the Ligier JS P217 arrives in Belgium for the presentation, it will already have had its first tests.

“Designing a new car isn’t exactly a stroll in the park as there are several question marks and important choices to be made between the first sketches from the design department and the first laps of the track. Our experience in the construction of sports prototypes, in particular in the LM P2 category, and the close collaboration that we enjoy with our technical partners and our clients, have helped guide us through the different stages to achieve the best possible result.”
