Motorland Aragón Gearing Up for ELMS Debut Event

A special press conference was held today at the Puerto Venecia in the centre of Zaragoza to launch the 4 Hours of Aragón, Round 3 of the 2023 European Le Mans Series and Round 4 of the Michelin Le Mans Cup on the 25/26 August.

The event was led by the Vice President of the Government of Aragón and President of Motorland Aragón, Arturo Aliaga, who was accompanied by the ELMS Event Manager Gaëlle Chouteau.

There were also three guest drivers from the European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup - Belén García Espinar; Spanish LMP3 driver in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with 360 Racing, Tatiana Calderón Noguera; Colombian LMP2 driver in the European Le Mans Series with Team Virage and Julien Gerbi; Team Virage Team Manager and Michelin Le Mans Cup LMP3 race winning driver in Barcelona.

The event was directed by Miguel Ángel Cobo, Managing Director of Motorland and there were numerous media and fans who were curious to know first-hand all the information of this new renowned sporting event that will be held in Aragón at the end of August. In addition, there was an LMP3 class Ligier JS P320-Nissan from Team Virage on display for the media and fans to get a closer look at a Le Mans Prototype race car.

The Vice President and Minister of Industry, Competitiveness and Business Development and President of MotorLand Aragón, Arturo Aliaga, said “our goal is to project that in Aragón great things can be done in pursuit of engineering, motor and sport. The very high participation of women in all areas of Le Mans shows that the world is changing for the better." The president of the circuit, Arturo Aliaga, has insisted that "for Motorland Aragón it is a historic event to host this event. It will be the only night race of the six held in Europe. Aliaga concluded by recalling that "Aragon is a bet on success and that it shows it in each sporting event".

ELMS Event Manager Gaëlle Chouteau said: "We are very happy to be holding the first European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup event at MotorLand Aragón at the end of August. I would like to thank Arturo Aliaga and his team for their assistance in making this event happen and for the warm welcome we have received here today in Zaragoza. We look forward to seeing everyone at the end of August for the only night race of the season, the 4 Hours of Aragón.”

Tickets are on sale to see Europe’s leading endurance race series on August 25 and 26 at Motorland Aragón.

MotorLand Aragón has tickets available for the 4 Hours of Aragón for only 15€ (launch price) on its website and the first 2500 tickets will have the opportunity to have special access to the Pit Walk and the Grid Walk ahead of the race on Saturday evening.

In addition, children under 14 and adults over 65 will have free access to the event.
