Round 5 of the 2021 European Le Mans Series will take place in Belgium, with the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps at the world-famous circuit in the Ardennes.

It is also the first event following the 89th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans which saw Belgian squad and current ELMS LMP2 championship leaders, Team WRT, take victory on their debut in a bittersweet final lap of the world’s greatest race.With the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps welcoming spectators, the team will surely be the centre of local attention.

In fact, two winning teams and four winning drivers at the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans will be taking part in the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

The grid will consist of 39 cars run by 28 different teams, with 117 drivers taking part representing a total of 27 different nations from all four corners of the world. Belgium is represented by one team, Orlen Team WRT, and three drivers, Tom Cloet, Ugo de Wilde and Sarah Bovy.


LMP2: Orlen Team WRT Looking for Glory at Home

  1. 14 cars on the LMP2 grid, 5 entries in the Pro/Am category
  2. With three podiums in four races, championship leaders Orlen Team WRT are currently leading with 75 points.
  3. Robert Kubica, Louis Deletraz and Yifei Ye have a 11-point lead over the no26 G-Drive Racing trio of Roman Rusinov, Nyck De Vries and Franco Colapinto.
  4. No25 G Drive Racing still leads the Pro/Am category after securing the second win of the season in Monza. Spain’s Roberto Merhi will join John Falb and Rui Andrade for the third time in 2021.
  5. 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans winning drivers Ferdinand Habsburg and Charles Milesi will be racing for different teams in Spa, Habsburg in the no24 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca and Milesi in the no37 Cool Racing Oreca.

LMP3: 16 cars on the Grid in Spa

  1. 16 cars on the LMP3 grid at Spa-Francorchamps
  2. Two Belgian drivers on the grid. Tom Cloet in the no12 Racing Experience Duqueine and Ugo de Wilde in the no13 Inter Europol Competition.
  3. De Wilde was another winner at Le Mans, the young Belgian driver taking victory in the second Road to Le Mans race on Saturday morning of the big event.
  4. After finishing 4th in Monza, Championship leaders no19 Cool Racing saw their lead cut to 13 points, with Nicolas Maulini, Matt Bell and Niklas Kruetten on 80 points with 4 Hours of Monza winner Laurents Hörr on 67 points.
  5. Tony Wells and Colin Noble also had a successful Le Mans weekend, taking victory in the first Road to Le Mans race. The British duo will be hoping that this will kick start their ELMS campaign after disappointing results so far.

LMGTE: AF Corse Travel to Spa as LM GTE Am winners at Le Mans

  1. 9 cars on the LMGTE grid for the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
  2. Six Ferraris, two Porsche and one Aston Martin
  3. AF Corse secured their first ever LMGTE Am victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as Francois Perrodo and Alessio Rovera took the win alongside former ELMS LMGTE champion Nicklas Nielsen.
  4. Sarah Bovy is the sole Belgian representative on the LMGTE grid, she will join fellow Iron Dames drivers Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting.
  5. Double race winners Matteo Cressoni, Rino Mastronardi and Miguel Molina in the no80 Iron Lynx Ferrari hold a 6-point lead over Duncan Cameron and David Perel in the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari. Matt Griffin, who missed the 4 Hours of Monza, will rejoin his teammates in Belgium.

The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will take place between the 17-19 September 2021 and is Round 5 of the 2021 European Le Mans Series.It will be the first event of the season that will welcome fans to witness some great endurance racing action in person.
