After an exciting season of top class endurance racing the teams, drivers, sponsors and partners gathered at the Casino Estoril for the 2016 European Le Mans Series Awards Ceremony to honour the victors.
The trophies were awarded to the 2016 champions in the six ELMS categories:
LMP2 Team: G-Drive Racing
LMP2 Drivers:Harry Tincknell, Simon Dolan, Giedo Van Der Garde

LMP3 Team: United Autosports
LMP3 Drivers: Alex Brundle, Christian England, Mike Guasch

LMGTE Team: Aston Martin Racing
LMGTE Drivers:Andrew Howard, Darren Turner, Alex MacDowall

In additions some special awards were made to honour those who had stood out during the 2016 ELMS season.
Rookie of the Year: Thomas Laurent
The young French driver, who races with Yvan Muller’s MRacing-YMR team in LMP3, had a good first season, winning the final race of the season in Estoril and finishing on the top step of the podium in LMP3 category at the Road to Le Mans race ahead of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Team of the Year: JMW Motorsport
The British team showed determination and ‘Bulldog Spirit’ to bounce back from disqualification after winning the opening race of the 2016 season at Silverstone in April to take four podium finishes including three wins, finishing second in the 2016 LMGTE title race.
Gentleman Driver of the Year: Mike Guasch
The Californian driver has added the ELMS LMP3 Drivers title to
the American Le Mans Series Prototype Challenge crown he won
in 2013.
