It is followed by another ELMS car, the Ferrari F488 n°55 of Spirit of Race driven by Duncan Cameron, Aaron Scott and Marco Ciocci. In fourth place, we find the Aston Martin Vantage n°99 of Beachdean AMR (Ross Gunn, Andrew Howard, Oliver Bryant) and finally at the 7th position there is the Aston Martin Vantage of TF Sport. After being in the top three of the class for several hours the TF Sport n°90 got hit by another car and loss then a lot of time.

Rob Smith – JMW Motorsport n°84: “I wanted to come to Le Mans to be a Le Mans driver and when I was onto the track to say that I was a driver at Le Mans. I have had Will (Stevens) and Dries (Vanthoor) and ever since we had them onboard we knew we had a shot. We had a fabulous race, the car was fabulous, we didn’t make any mistake, the pace was good and we bought the car home so it’s fantastic. It’s surreal for the moment, I haven’t realised yet. It’s a fairy tale and it’s going to take a long time to sink in, this the pinnacle of motorsport and for me this the highest level I will ever drive in and we’ve all shown what we can do and we’ve got a good result!”

Will Stevens – JMW Motorsport n°84: “For us as a team it’s an amazing result. Everything came around last minute, with the car being new to the team and also new to me and Dries so we had to learn quickly the F488. Honestly the car was amazing for the whole race and during 24 Hours we did not have one single issue. And I thank the team for what they did and also Ferrari for supplying the car, it’s great. Last year I came here in an LMP2 and finish second and I wanted to come back this year and go one step higher, we’ve managed to do that so I’m super happy for everyone in the team but it’s a great achievement for me as well. “

In the LMP2 class, the ELMS teams did really well as well as the first one is classified 5th overall. This is the n°32 United Autosports Ligier that completed their first 24 Hours of Le Mans. One lap behind there is the Oreca 07 n°40 of Graff driven by James Allen, Franck Matelli et Richard Bradley that stands at the 6th place overall.

Only two ELMS team retired from the race, the Porsche 911 n°88 of Proton Competiton after an accident on Saturday and the n°23 of Panis-Barthez Competition that suffered from a gearbox problem only 3 hours before the end of the race.
