Official Test Days

Essais Officiels Paul Ricard

The very first year after being inaugurated forty years ago, the circuit welcomes the French Formula 1 Grand Prix and from 1978, the famous Bol d'Or. Under the sign of conviviality, the circuit diversifies its activities during the 80s; then, in the dawning of the 90s, victim of the anti-alcohol law suffers a long period in the wilderness.

Transformed in the early 2000s into an ultramodern track reserved for private tests, the Paul Ricard HTTT opened its doors again in 2009 on the occasion of the Le Mans Series Official Test Days. This successful experience convinced the circuit management to build additional grandstands to carry on offering first rate meetings to an eager public.

Since the beginning of the series in 2004, the Le Mans Series competitors meet every year and appear for the 1st time of the season on the occasion of the Official Tests. Thus, the 2010 meeting is taken by March 7th and 8th.
