ELMS - 13/02/2018 - Press release - Ebimotors
The team will field one of the six brand new Porsche 911 RSR, a car that marks a sweeping change in Porsche’s history, with the introduction of a newly modeled mid-engine framework. This will be possible thanks to a strategic collaboration with Proton Competition and its boss Christian Ried, who has
been extremely helpful and shared his extensive experience in international racing.
“2018 could have not started better” stated Enrico Borghi. “The opportunity for me and my team to be part of the most important race in the world is a great honor. I have represented Porsche since the beginning of my career and being in Le Mans as the only Italian team is a dream come true”.
On the drivers side, the full line-up for both of the racing commitments has not yet been defined. One of the certainties will be the experienced Fabio Babini.
The FIA Gold rated driver has been one of the main contenders in the 2017 Le Mans Cup, and will definitely be back on the grid eager to tackle the new challenges of this exciting season.
“I am very happy to be back at Le Mans for the 8th time” says Fabio Babini “Being able to represent Porsche at Le Mans is a privilege, it would be amazing to repeat the victory of 2001 with the same brand. The team is a strong reality and is looking to obtain even more successes in the upcoming season.”
